I had a hard time creating this clay piece. It was fun making it but it was still difficult creating the leaf and adding detail to it, then putting the frog on piece by piece and then painting it all in one. It took time but it was a fun project overall.
This is a painting of a picture I took while my family and I were at the beach. Painting this picture was very hard because of all the mixtures of colors and the tiny line between the sky and the ground. Although difficult, it was very fun making this because I enjoy painting. In this drawing, I chose to draw a city in 1-point perspective. This city is a city in a post-apocalyptic world. Some things I would like to change about my drawing are the coloring. The lines look very noticeable and I don't like that. I would have also added some more detail to the buildings or more buildings in general. I had alot of fun doing this project and I learned how to draw in 1-point perspective and it was really fun. This piece is partly unfinished. Although it is almost done. This work is based off of classical music. I made this original piece because I enjoy music and play music as well. I took a big risk making this project. I wasn't confident in using an x-acto knife and wasn't fully sure I wanted to do the design I used, but I am happy with the turnout. A couple challenges came up while working on this, I cut through the paper at one point but it isnt that noticable. With this drawing Ms. Rossi had us put our hand in any shape we wanted and draw the outline. Once we have finished the outline, we were to put a animal inside of the outline. Any animal we chose. I, for one, chose the zebra. I chose a zebra because they are really interesting to me. I do not really know how to describe why I find them interesting but I do. My experience with this piece was very fun and intriguing. I enjoyed this project very much. We started off with these and worked up to the oil pastel shapes which you can also find on this blog. I enjoyed these shading assignments very much We did these shortly after the blind contours. Modify contour is when you can look at your paper but cannot take the pen/pencil off the paper. We did these very early in the year. Blind contour drawings are when you put your pen/pencil on the paper and do not take it off until you are done. You also cannot look at your paper. I chose these cartoon characters to draw as a skelton because Family Guy is my favorite T.V show and who doesn't love Mickey Mouse? I drew the skeletons the way I did because it is the most realistic and yet cartoonish skelton I could think of. I also added the original pictures, which i traced on tracing and converted into my sketchbook. My experience working with oil pastels started out difficult but I slowly grew better and better with them. In this picture, I created value be overlapping the darker colors with black and mixing the two, and the same but with white with the lighter colors. Overlapping was important because without it there would be significant lines throughout the piece, therefore making it look rushed and incomplete. I attempted to create a clear light source. You can see it on the left side on the objects. Value is important because it makes colors run smoothly together and show depth. |
